3rd Inning

P: It's time for the third inning between the Overlords and the Senshi
here at beautiful Ottawa Stadium on Coventry Road in Ottawa.  The Senshi
lead the Overlords by one run early in the game, but there are many
innings left today to play.

C: There certainly is.

P: Due up for the Overlords are Jadeite, Racy, and Rubeus.  This
promises to be a hard fought game today.

C: It certainly does.

SA: Batting ninth, the pitcher, Jadeite!

BN: Boo!

P: The crowd doesn't like the stunts Jadeite has pulled today, throwing
at both Sailor Jupiter and Tuxedo Mask.

C: They certainly don't!

P: Jadeite steps into the batter's box.  Tuxedo Mask is pitching from
the wind up.  The pitch, a fastball!, on the outside corner for strike
one.

C: It certainly was!

P: [...] Jadeite sets himself in the batter's box.  Tuxedo Mask pitches,
a breaking ball outside for ball one.  One and one.

C: It cert-

P: And as Jadeite sets himself up in the batter box, Tuxedo Mask fixes
the mound to help his pitching stance.  Jadeite signals he's ready.
Sailor Venus calls the pitch.  Tuxedo Mask winds up, throws, a fastball!
Jadeite grounds the ball past first base.  Sailor Jupiter charges the
ball and throws! to first.  It's gonna be close!  Out! at first!

C: There's that noise again!

P: Sailor Jupiter guns out Jadeite at first with an amazing throw.  A
rifle shot to Sailor Moon who kept her foot on the bag to catch that
one.

C: Good thing that Sailor Moon was there, else Jadeite would have been
hit by it.

P: It certainly was!

SA: Now batting, the center fielder, Racy.

C: Racy is oh-for-one, striking out in her first at bat.

P: Racy steps to the plate.  Tuxedo Mask still pitching from the
wind-up.  The throw to the plate.  Fastball! cutting the inside corner
for strike one.

C: Tuxedo Mask will have to vary his pitches against Racy.  She is able
to quickly adapt to any pitch.

P: Racy gets set in the batter's box.  Tuxedo Mask gets the sign, winds
up and pitches.  Racy swings! and misses a change up for strike two.
The count is now oh-and-two.

C: This is beginning to look like Racy's first at bat.

P: Yes it does.  Tuxedo Mask pitches from the stretch.  It goes outside
for ball one.  The count is one-and-two.  Racy steps back into the
batter's box.  Tuxedo Mask is again pitching from the stretch.  The
pitch, a knuckleball.  Racy swings! and misses for strike three.

C: That was certainly unexpected.  Tuxedo Mask has a rep for throwing
hard.

SA: Now batting, the third baseman, Rubeus!

P: And with two out, Rubeus comes to bat with no-one on base.

C: Rubeus is oh-for-one and flew out to left field in his last at bat.

P: Tuxedo Mask gets set on the mound.  From the wind-up, the pitch, a
fastball! outside for ball one.

C: Looks like Tuxedo Mask is getting tired.

P: But its still the third inning.  Tuxedo Mask pitches from the
wind-up.  Rubeus swings!  He connects! and a grounder to the first base
side of second.  Sailor Mercury dives! and comes up with it!  She throws
to Sailor Moon at first to end the inning!

C: I heard it again!

P: And that ends the inning.  The Overlords go down in order.  After two
and a half innings, the Senshi lead the Overlords two to one with the
Senshi coming to bat.

P: ... with him?  I want my agent!  We're on?  Welcome back to Ottawa
Stadium where the Senshi lead the Overlords by a score of two to one in
the middle of the third.  Coming to bat this inning are Sailor Moon,
Sailor Venus, and Sailor Uranus.  My partner has gone down to get an
interview with several of the players, so we won't have to put up, er,
we won't have him with us this inning.

And before we start the inning, I'd like to thank the OSMC for providing
a place to stay for the players.  I understand that Tuxedo Mask was very
clean getting to the game today.

SA: Now batting, playing first base, Sailor Moon!

P: Sailor Moon sacrificed in her first at bat, moving Sailor Mars to
third on her bunt.  Jadeite steps on to the mound.  Sailor Moon steps up
to the plate.  The pitch from the wind-up, swung! on and missed for
strike one.  Sailor Moon steps out of the batter's box and checks her
signs from Artemis.  She calls time and runs down towards Artemis.  I
guess it's to double-check the signs.  She returns to the batter's box.
Jadeite gets set, pitches, a fastball!  Sailor Moon hits it, sending to
the third base side of second.  Ann comes up with it, turns and throws
Sailor Moon out at first.

SA: Now batting, the catcher, Sailor Venus!

P: Sailor Venus is one-for-one, singling in her last at bat.  She has
one RBI and a run scored.  She comes out to bat normally this time.  She
quickly gets ready in the batter's box.  Jadeite pitches from the
wind-up.  A fastball, swung on, popped up and going foul into the upper
part of the PetroCanada section.  Some lucky fan will have a souvenir
from today.

Sailor Venus gets her sign from Artemis and steps back up to the plate.
Jadeite pitches from the wind-up.  The oh-one pitch is low for ball one.
One-and-one, one out, no-one on.  Sailor Venus gets set.  Jadeite winds
up and pitches, a fastball!  Sailor Venus swings! and drives the ball
past a diving Rubeus into left field.  The Tennis Youma charges but
Sailor Venus is safe on first with a single.  And this will bring up
Sailor Uranus.

SA: Now batting, the center fielder, Sailor Uranus!

P: Sailor Uranus is one-for-one with a double.  She gets set in the
batter's box.  Jadeite pitches from the stretch.  A fastball, clipping
the inside corner for strike one.  Sailor Uranus isn't pleased with that
call, but Greg, the home plate umpire, hasn't made a bad call yet today.

Sailor Uranus steps back in the batter's box.  Jadeite checks Sailor
Venus at first, pitches from the stretch.  Sailor Venus breaks from
first!  A fastball swung on and missed!  The throw to second, no play!
Sailor Venus is still at first.  But now the count is oh-and-two.
Sailor Uranus calls for time.  She and Artemis are talking about
something.  She's pointing to Sailor Venus at first, where she's jumping
up and down on the base.

Greg walks out to break up the meeting.  Sailor Uranus steps up to the
plate.  Jadeite checks Sailor Venus at first, pitches from the stretch.
It's a sinking fastball.  Sailor Venus breaks from first.  Sailor Uranus
swings! and misses for strike three.  The throw to second not! in time.
Malachite hesitated in throwing to see if Sailor Venus was really
running.  Sailor Venus has stolen second and is trying to take the base?
Andrew, the second base umpire, is trying to stop her and gets the base
back on the ground.  I wish I knew how Luna puts up with this.

SA: Now Batting, the right fielder, Sailor Jupiter!

P: And with two out and a runner on second, Sailor Jupiter comes to bat.
In her last at bat, she was hit by a pitch and was left stranded.
Artemis calls time and runs out to Sailor Venus.  Whatever he has to
say, it was short.  Sailor Jupiter steps up to the plate.  Jadeite gets
the sign, checks Sailor Venus at second, who more subdued after her talk
with Artemis.  She only sticks her tongue out at Jadeite.  From the
stretch, Jadeite pitches inside! Sailor Jupiter dives out of the way of
the pitch!  People, she is not one happy camper.  Luna, Sailor Neptune,
and Sailor Moon come out of the dugout to hold her back.  Greg issues a
warning to both teams.  The next pitch like that, intentional or not
gets the pitcher ejected.

Time has been called while Luna and Sailor Moon try to calm down Sailor
Jupiter.  Sailor Neptune has gone over to keep Sailor Uranus in the
dugout.  Sailor Jupiter returns to the plate, calmer but she's still
upset.  Jadeite checks the runner, pitches from the stretch.  It's a
fastball!  Sailor Jupiter swings!  It's going to left-center field.
It's going back! back! and the cat's out of the bag!  A two-run home run
for Sailor Jupiter!

BN: Whoomp!  There it is!
Whoomp!  There it is!
Whoomp!  There it is!

P: And the Senshi have taken a four to one lead over the Overlords.
Sailor Jupiter parked that ball on Coventry Road.  Sailor Venus
cartwheels over home plate.  Sailor Jupiter takes her time getting
around the bases, savoring the blast out of the park.

SA: Now batting, the left fielder, Sailor Neptune!

P: Sailor Neptune had a sacrifice fly in her last at bat, driving in
Sailor Venus for the second run of the game.  She comes to bat with two
out and no-one left on base after Sailor Jupiter's home run.  Sailor
Neptune steps up to the plate.  Jadeite pitches from the wind up now.
It's a fastball.  Sailor Neptune fouls it behind first base for strike
one.

Time has been called because of debris on the field.  My partner will be
back for the top of the fourth.  Right now, he's picking himself off the
ground by second base after being tossed out of the dugout by Sailor
Jupiter and Sailor Uranus.  Don't worry folks, he's okay.  He only
landed on his head.

Sailor Neptune steps back in the box after the debris has walked off the
field.  Jadeite gets his sign.  The wind-up, the pitch, a slider, low
for ball one.  One and one, two outs here in the bottom of the third.
Jadeite steps on the rubber, Sailor Neptune returns to the plate.  The
wind-up, the pitch.  A screaming fastball!  Neptune gets under it and
sends it to deep center field.  Racy is under it for the third out of
the inning.

In the bottom of the third, the Senshi score two runs on two hits and
left no-one on base.  So at the end of three innings, the Senshi lead
the Overlords four to one.
